How to Opt Out of Intelius, MyLife, and Radaris

After tackling Spokeo, Whitepages, and BeenVerified, these three are the next highest-priority data broker opt-outs. Each has its own process, and none of them makes it easy.

How to Remove Yourself from Intelius

Intelius is one of the largest background check companies in the US. It also owns dozens of other sites including PeopleLookup, US Search, and TruthFinder, which means removing yourself from Intelius doesn't remove you from its subsidiaries.

  1. Go to intelius.com and search your name to find your listing
  2. Navigate to intelius.com/opt-out
  3. Search for your listing again using the opt-out form
  4. Select your record and click Continue
  5. Enter your email address
  6. Click the confirmation link in the email
  7. Your listing should be removed within 72 hours

After completing Intelius, also submit opt-outs to PeopleLookup.com and USSearch.com separately — same company, separate databases.

How to Remove Yourself from MyLife

MyLife is one of the hardest brokers to remove from. Their opt-out process requires contacting them directly and provides no online self-service form.

  1. Call 1-888-704-1900 during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm PT)
  2. Request removal of your profile. Have your full name, address, and birthdate ready for identity verification.
  3. You can also email privacy@mylife.com with your name and the URL of your profile
  4. Removal typically takes 3–5 business days

MyLife is aggressive about re-adding data. Check back monthly and repeat the process as needed.

How to Remove Yourself from Radaris

  1. Go to radaris.com and search your name
  2. Find your listing and click on it to open the full profile
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the profile and click "Control your information"
  4. Create a free Radaris account (required for opt-out)
  5. Go to your account settings and select the profiles you want removed
  6. Request removal
  7. Removal typically processes within 24–48 hours

Note: creating a Radaris account to opt out is a somewhat ironic requirement. Use an email alias (SimpleLogin or Apple Hide My Email) rather than your real email address.

After These Three

These six brokers — Spokeo, Whitepages, BeenVerified, Intelius, MyLife, and Radaris — represent the most visible listings. There are 4,000+ more. The next tier worth addressing: PeekYou, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, FastPeopleSearch, CheckPeople, and PrivateEye.
